Each year, the ABVL publishes a comprehensive report detailing all its activities, finances, and the progress of restoration projects. These documents report on the use of funds raised, achievements accomplished, and challenges ahead. As the CGN's main partner and a 22% shareholder through its Pro Vapore Foundation, we are committed to providing our members, donors, and institutional partners with a clear and detailed overview of our work. 2025

In response to the damage sustained by the "Simplon" in March 2024, the ABVL mobilized its resources to launch restoration studies. At the same time, routine maintenance of the fleet continued, and new fundraising campaigns were initiated to secure the future of all eight Belle Époque vessels.

2024

A year of financial consolidation following the renovation of the "Rhône". ABVL strengthened its reserves to anticipate future major projects and continued its public awareness campaign with several significant events and publications.

2023

Celebrating 20 years of ABVL. Exceptional results: over 40 million Swiss francs raised since 2002, eight boats saved, and a community of 20,000 committed donors. Publication of a commemorative book retracing two decades of work for heritage preservation.

2022

2021

The complete renovation of the "Rhône" has been completed, thanks to a contribution of 3 million francs from ABVL. The boat has regained its original splendor after nearly fifty years without major work. More than 60,000 hours of labor were required to bring this 1927 gem back to life.

2020

The year was marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, which severely impacted tourist navigation on Lake Geneva. Despite this difficult context, the ABVL maintained its support for the CGN and continued fundraising campaigns for the renovation of the "Rhône," which was then underway in the Ouchy dry dock.

2019

The "Rhône" entered the dry dock in May 2019 for its long-awaited general renovation. A major fundraising campaign was launched to finance the ABVL's contribution to this large-scale project. The ship had not undergone any major restoration for nearly fifty years.

2018

ABVL has reached a symbolic milestone with 20 donors and nearly 000 active members. Routine maintenance of the fleet continues, and preparations are underway for the upcoming refit of the "Rhône". Public awareness campaigns are being strengthened to highlight the heritage value of the Belle Époque fleet.

2017

Maintenance work continues across the entire fleet. ABVL is notably funding the retubing of the two boilers on the "Simplon", dating from 1966, an essential operation to guarantee the ship's safety and longevity. Strengthening relationships with institutional partners in preparation for future major renovation projects.

ABVL is run by a committee of 11 passionate volunteer members, elected by the General Assembly. As a 22% shareholder in CGN, through its Pro Vapore Foundation, we actively participate in strategic decisions concerning the fleet.

Our structure is based on rigorous controls: an independent auditing body audits our accounts every year, and the Pro Vapore Foundation, under Geneva cantonal supervision, manages the funds collected.

This dual governance guarantees total transparency and optimal use of every franc received.
